(MENAFN - Arab News) A US mission, representing prominent businessmen from the state of Pennsylvania, will shortly tour the Kingdom for a week.
Managed by the US-Saudi Arabian Business Council (USSABC) in collaboration with Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), the visiting delegation is scheduled to meet with their Saudi counterparts here and topics of mutual interest will be debated.
According to USSABC source, the eight-member Pennsylvanian delegation will include Allen and Shariff Corporation, Aquatech International Corporation, Bellefex, LLC, Danzer veneer Americas, Dek worldwide, LLC, DET Inc, Green Neuro modulation services, and Philadelphia international Medicine.
One of the visiting members is looking for meeting with government agencies associated with health care and high performance energy buildings, while others will be interested in meeting with public and private sector decision makers involved in projects related to water treatment, wastewater treatment, desalination and wastewater recycling.
A delegation member, specialized in building solutions, is keen on meeting with the owners of local contracting companies as well as clients who would value its experience in defense, health care, resorts, sustainable construction and other specialty construction projects.
The source said one other visiting member would like to meet with clinical and research organizations to assist in providing market leading and trusted products that provide customizable and pioneering solutions for neuro scientists and neurosurgeons in Saudi Arabia.
The USSABC is fully mobilizing all its potential in improving the mutual knowledge and understanding between the private sectors of the US and Saudi Arabia and promote and facilitate increased bilateral trade and investment.
According to statistics released by the US Census Bureau, trade between the US and Saudi Arabia reached SR229.84 billion in 2011. This marks a 42.2 percent increase over the value of bilateral trade in 2010 with only 2008 recording a higher amount. The large increase in overall trade is evidence of strong partnership between the US and Saudi Arabia and the global economy.
The transportation equipment continued to account for largest share of US exports. Other top commodities included machinery, chemicals, computers and electronic products.
Agriculture products and primary metal manufacturers had some of largest year-on-year gains.
