Saudi- Rise in house rents 

(MENAFN - Arab News) Hike in house rents is a big issue these days. It has become a serious issue as house rents have immensely been raised in recent years and the trend is likely to continue as there seems to be no check over it.

The house owners are issuing notices to tenants and demanding huge hikes in rents almost every year. The helpless tenants have no choice but to accept their demands. The owners are not bothered about the financial status or the income limitations of the tenants. They do not care about the inconveniences and miseries caused to the tenants. Their demands for exorbitant increase in rents have no justification. On query from tenants as to the reason for such exorbitant increase, they simply say it is being increased everywhere and they ask the tenants to look for other apartments if they are unable to pay.

This has made lives miserable for the tenants. Houses are not available in the city limits with reasonable rates. Low-income and middle-class people are suffering a lot due to this situation and are unable to cope with the situation.

I would like to request the authorities concerned to look into this serious problem, and put a check on the house rents. Also the employers/companies should consider this situation and increase housing allowance for their employees according to the current market rate.
