(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) A man was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Sunday as the Court of First Instance found him guilty of sexually assaulting and molesting a 13-year-old schoolboy during private lesson sessions.
The 40-year-old Indian will be deported after serving his jail term, as per the court's order. The verdict is subject to appeal within 15 days at the Court of Appeal.
According to court records, the defendant sexually assaulted and molested the Indian boy while in the latter's house in Muraqqabat to teach him Arabic. It happened in September last year.
The boy said during the investigation that the defendant was giving Arabic lessons and asked him about his mother.
When he replied that she was sleeping, the man asked him to take down his pants. The accused then took the boy's pants down by force. He then made the boy touch him and he sexually assaulted him. The defendant warned him of telling anybody or he would tell his father that he was not doing his home works and he would be beaten up.
On September 17, last year, the boy's mother, a 46-year-old housewife, filed a complaint after seeing the defendant in an indecent posture with her kid.
She said she woke up to make tea for the accused but was shocked to see him exposing himself to her son with the latter's pants down. She yelled at him and the defendant left the house after saying he was sorry. The mother was told by her son that the accused molested him about two months earlier on the bed. The boy told her that he was scared of the defendant because the latter threatened him and he respected him as a teacher.
She said that the accused had been giving her son private lessons in Arabic for eight months twice a week. He was arrested in a school where he worked as a teacher two days later.
