(MENAFN - Arab News) Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), and his spouse Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel, vice chairwoman of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed, visited the Republic of Burundi.
They were accompanied by a delegation that included Nahla Alanbar, private executive assistant to the chairman, Hassna Alturki, department head, travel and external affairs; Hani Agha, senior manager, travel and external affairs; and Manal Alshammary, protocol manager.
Prince Alwaleed and Princess Ameerah were received by Pierre Nkurunziza, president of Burundi. The president welcomed the prince to his country and the two discussed investment and philanthropic issues. They also discussed a number of issues on the economic, social and investment front. President Nkurunziza briefed the prince about investment opportunities in the tourism, financial and agriculture sectors in his country.
In response, the prince referred to Kingdom Zephyr Africa Management Company (Kingdom Zephyr or KZAM) as it is one of the leading pan-African private equity firms. Also during the visit, President Nkurunziza honored Prince Alwaleed the highest honor granted by the country "The Order of the Republic."
Meanwhile, Prince Alwaleed yesterday received at his office in Riyadh Spanish Ambassador Pablo Bravo. The ambassador handed Prince Alwaleed a letter from King Juan Carlos of Spain congratulating him on winning a court case in Spain.
While thanking the Spanish ruler for his remarks, Prince Alwaleed highlighted the long and warm relations between Saudi Arabia and Spain, and asked the ambassador to relay cordial regards to King Juan Carlos.
