(MENAFN - Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Dubai Press Club (DPC) today announced it will host the 10th Annual General Assembly of the International Association of Press Clubs (IAPC) on 10 May, 2012. The meeting will witness the participation of 22 press clubs from 10 countries.
Late last year, Dubai Press Club was unanimously elected as President of IAPC at the Annual General Assembly held in Canberra, Australia. DPC's achievement builds on its successful tenure as Vice-President of IAPC in 2011.
Maryam Bin Fahad, Executive Director of Dubai Press Club, will preside over the 10th Annual General Assembly of International Association of Press Clubs.
DPC has initiated preparations for the annual meet in Dubai that will seek to expand the Association's membership base and network of affiliates around the world. The session will also witness member press clubs exchanging experiences and expertise, in addition to exploring activities and services for the continued benefit of associates.
IAPC members will present an overview of their annual activities during the meeting. It is also expected that joint initiatives to support worldwide media will be announced such as the development of an online portal for IAPC's services.
Dubai Press Club is a founding member of the IAPC and serves as the permanent General Secretariat of the Association. IAPC is an independent body responsible for raising awareness on the values and ethics in media. Furthermore, the body is mandated to establish a network for journalists and media persons from around the world to share information and best practices.
