(MENAFN - Arab Times) The Misdemeanor Court, presided over by Judge Imam Al-Seirafi, has acquitted a fish trader of betrayal of trust.
Case files indicate the defendant received money from a general trading company for safekeeping based on a contract signed between them but he allegedly took the money for personal use.
When the defendant appeared in court, he vehemently denied the charges, affirming he has business relations with the plaintiff. He said a commercial case had been filed earlier to liquidate the account between the two parties.
Attorney Ayed Al-Rashidi, lawyer for the accused, asked the court to acquit his client due to lack of incriminating evidence, pointing out the money was the company's payment for its debts to the fish trader.
