(MENAFN Press) In 2011, Sino-Jordanian trade reached 2.78 billion in total, with a rise of 35.2% comparing to that of 2010- Chinese Ambassador

AMMAN-----April 2, 2012--------- The Chinese Ambassador to Jordan HE Mr. Yue Xiaoyong discussed "China in the New Transition" at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Business Forum/ Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business (TAGSB).

"China cannot and will not develop itself in isolation. The more achievements China obtains in its modernization drive, the more contributions it will be enabled to make in safeguarding world peace and common development," the Ambassador told a host of diplomats, intellectuals and high commissioners who attended the lecture.

"We attach great importance in promoting friendly relations and expanding cooperation with all other nations on the basis of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, non-interference into each other's countries' internal affairs, equality, and mutual benefit as well as peaceful co-existence to meet various challenges through coordination and cooperation," he said.

The Ambassador stated that "Sino-Jordan and Sino-Arab relationship is strong and close."

"Over the past 35 years since the establishment of Sino-Jordan diplomatic relations in 1977, with the wise guidance by leaders of both sides, ever growing momentums for our relations are maintained. There have been valuable and close dialogues between our top leaders and multi-level exchanges," he said.

"With joint efforts, our bilateral trade has increased by seven times during 2001-2010. In 2011, Sino-Jordanian trade reached 2.78 billion in total, with a rise of 35.2% comparing to that of 2010. China has become the second largest trading partner. Our friendly bilateral exchanges and cooperation in cultural, educational, military and many other fields have been expanded dynamically," he added.

The Ambassador also tackled a brief history of China's development and modernization.

Meanwhile, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh highlighted the special relations between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization and China saying:" We are proud that Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property is the only non Chinese entity to be licensed as Intellectual Property Rights foreign office in China since 2003. We are proud to be partners with Confucius Institute (in teaching Chinese and as an accredited examination center) and proud to be China visa center."

"We are extremely excited that the corporate global virtual "University of TAG" plans soon to teach online Chinese all over the world, and Arabic and English in China and the rest of the world through its digital "TAG Languages Academy" and proud to continue to provide the China Trademark Association and State Intellectual Property Office with advice on TM and copyright regulations and updates in the Middle East," Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh who was the first non Chinese to give a commencement speech at SYNU graduation in 2009 to over 10,000 graduates, added.
