AMMAN --- March 21, 2012 --- The task force for the establishment and launch of the University of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh (UTAG), the first global digital business university of its kind in the world, held its fourth meeting at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business.
The 40-expert team in education, e-solutions and training discussed correspondences and ties with specialized international organizations and e-learning service providers aiming to establish a global network of accredited educational institutions, and build partnerships with education and quality examination centers worldwide covering all programs offered by UTAG.
The attendees also discussed the release of the second generation of TAGITOP, the first state-of-the-art Arab laptop designed and developed by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and manufactured at Samsung factories, one of the largest international electronics, which will also conduct its marketing. The design of TAGITOP II took into consideration facilitating the access of students to information, so this device becomes the student' school bag.
HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, TAG-Org chairman and CEO, stressed that TAGITOP is a not-for-profit project similar to the previous edition of the laptop while current marketing and distribution will target schools and universities at cost price taking into account the high tech specifications of this laptop compared to other devices at the market.
"We are carrying out our duty as a large professional group in disseminating knowledge and TAGITOP is our CSR tool as we have no intention to commercially compete with others in this field. We, as an international Corporation, have to prove our capabilities to prepare the required demand of this device as per the request of the universities and educational institutions," HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said.
"We will exert all efforts to empower the Arab communities and enable them to access world of knowledge through training on the basic skills and tools," he added.
