(MENAFN Press) Qatar Building Company (QBC) shows its support for responsible construction materials production by investing in INTERCEM Doha 2012 as a Gold Sponsor last week. The event, held in Sheraton Doha Resort & Hotel, attracted international companies as well as guests and speakersfrom around the world; it was dedicated to the trading, transportation, and handling of cement and cement-related products.

The first day of the conference focused on Qatar-from the country's economy to its future mega-projects. As such, QBC hosted the extravagant lunch hour and provided presentations on its production capabilities in precast concrete, concrete products (i.e. kerbstones), asphalt, and readymix concrete.

Mr. Mounir El Malak, General Manager of QBC Concrete Products and QBC Readymix Concrete, commented, "By participating in INTERCEM Doha, we confirm QBC's commitment to keep abreast of the latest production technologies and developments in the world's cement industry. We firmly believe that as a pioneer in the concrete production industry of Qatar, it is QBC's obligation to support advancements in sustainable production and quality."

Mr. Zohair Murad, General Manager of QBC Precast and QBC Asphalt, further stressed the importance of supporting such events: "Only in our collaboration with global industry leaders can we uphold our reputation as Qatar's producer of top-quality construction materials. Our plants and factories across the country make us one of the most diverse companies with the largest production capacities in the nation. It is an honor to support these and similar conferences to nurture the sharing of knowledge and to continue providing our clients with the best."

QBC will also be a Gold Sponsor for the 10th Gulf Water Conference to be held next month, April 22-24, in Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel.
