(MENAFN - Jordan Times) Mobile experts will convene next week to discuss the future of the industry, challenges and opportunities in the field, according to the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (int@j).
The Jordan Mobile Conference, to be attended by technical managers and experts in the mobile industry, will demonstrate the newest technologies, trends and applications, and will present speakers from the field, int@j CEO Abed Shamlawi told The Jordan Times on Tuesday.
"The conference will also highlight future trends and directions in the growth of the industry and the expected impact on other sectors," he said.
Participants will focus on introducing practical knowledge, sharing experiences and presenting success stories and recommendations, in addition to giving an overview of smartphone technology and its applications, models, challenges and related opportunities, Shamlawi added.
According to Telecommunications Regulatory Commission figures, mobile penetration in Jordan reached 120 per cent by the end of 2011, with about 7.482 million subscriptions.
Of the total number, 2.750 million were Zain Jordan users, followed by 2.693 million users subscribed to Orange Jordan and 2.038 million subscribers to Umniah, according to TRC figures.
Founded in 2000, int@j seeks to improve the dynamics of Jordan's ICT markets.
