Dubai's hotel occupancy at 86.2% in Jan 

(MENAFN) STR Global said that occupancy in Dubai's hotels in January hit 86.2 percent, ranking the emirate on the top of the world's hotel occupancy list, reported Gulf News.

The company added that the number of the emirate's hotel rooms rose to 74,613 in 2012 from 56,599 in 2008.

It also said that Dubai came second after Paris on the list of destinations covered in the report in terms of average room rate with USD269.90, up from the fourth position in 2011 with USD224.

Moreover, the emirate ranked in the first position with USD232.7 in terms of revenue per available room (RevPar) category, up from the fifth position in 2011 with USD169.

It is worth noting that the recent distinction has placed Dubai above Hong Kong, Sydney, London, Tokyo, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Madrid, Berlin, Beijing and Rome.
