(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Abu Dhabi will host on Thursday, 1st of March 2012, the first UAE-US Economic Policies Dialogue.
The UAE side will be lead by Khaled Al Ghaith, Assistant UAE Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, while the US team will be chaired by Jose Fernandez, Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs.
Top UAE-US officials will meet on Thursday to share ideas on effective mechanisms to advance economic cooperation to better serve common interests and embrace best practices to improve business and investment climate.
Capitalising on distinguished trade and economic relations, Abu Dhabi and Washington are seeking to boost trade exchange which stood last year at US 18.5 billion, a 44% increase than the previous year, remove trade barriers and conduct workshops for building capacities and exploring new business opportunities.
More than 750 US companies are operating in the UAE in various economic sectors and 30,000 US citizens are living and working in the UAE.
