(MENAFN - Arab Times) The Islamic Constitutional Movement (ICM) has urged the legislative and executive authorities to lay down a mechanism to stabilize national security and fortify Kuwait's relations with other GCC countries, reports Annahar daily quoting sources.

In a press statement on the occasion of the national holidays, the movement stressed the need for the two authorities to set aside their differences and work together to set the standards for national security, improve relations with countries that pose a threat to the security of Kuwait, and strengthen ties with other nations in the GCC.

As part of the commemoration of the National and Liberation days, the ICM called for the promotion of patriotism, national unity and respect for other beliefs or ideologies.

Meanwhile, the legislative and executive authorities intend to coordinate their efforts to address the problems of 1,500 Kuwaiti private sector employees who lost their jobs due to the global financial crisis, reports Al-Kuwaitiah daily quoting Khalid Al-Duwaisan, chairman of the committee tasked to study the problems of these workers.

Al-Duwaisan pointed out this decision came after indicators on the collapse of private companies emerged due to the financial crisis that the entire world has been experiencing till 2008.Agreed

In another report, MP Mohammed Al-Dallal was recently quoted as saying the so-called Majority Bloc MPs have agreed to dedicate part of Wednesday's session to discuss the Syrian issue, reports Al-Kuwaitiah daily.

He added a request in this regard will be submitted to severe relations with the Syrian regime and recognition of the Syrian Transitional Council.

He went on to say the issue of the Syrians cannot be delayed any longer in view of the carnage that has been committed against the people by their regime.

Meanwhile, The Board Chairman of the Kuwait Foundation for Family Protection Adel AbdulRahman Al-Zukair says he considers the establishment of an independent parliamentary committee for family affairs is an urgent national requirement, reports Al-Qabas daily.

He cited the challenges facing the family which he called more than the family potentials.

This, he said, requires societal support for stability which is an integral part of the society's security and stability.

In a press release Al-Zukair pointed out the rate of divorce among Kuwaitis married to non-Kuwaitis is regretting. He added this also raises the rate of unmarried women among Kuwaitis.
