Jordan-Kuwait media forum opens Sunday 

(MENAFN - Jordan Times) The Jordan-Kuwait media forum will be held next week to discuss prospects for increasing cooperation between the two countries and challenges facing the media in the region.

More than 250 participants will attend the two-day forum, which opens on Sunday and will be held under the auspices of Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh.

The event will focus on regional challenges facing the media as well as the repercussions of the political developments taking place in several Arab countries, the forum's coordinator, Mansour Ajmi, said in a statement sent to The Jordan Times on Wednesday.

"Politicians, lawmakers, journalists and economists will be invited to the forum, where they will discuss issues of common concern between Jordan and Kuwait in order to move bilateral ties forward," he said, adding that the two countries have successful experiences in the media sector and can share their expertise in service of the profession.

Ajmi noted that the Arab Spring has posed political challenges that need to be discussed in depth, adding that the event will include specialised sessions to talk about the political systems in the Arab region in the aftermath of the Arab Spring as well as the impact of the recent and ongoing developments on regional economies.

At the end of the forum, he said, a short film will be screened highlighting the development of bilateral ties between Jordan and Kuwait throughout the years and the role of both countries' leaderships in strengthening joint cooperation at all levels.
