(MENAFN - Arab News) ADS Securities, the Abu Dhabi-based forex and bullion trading platform, has reported increased demand for gold at the start of the year following the US Federal Reserve decision to keep borrowing cost low for three more years. Investors from around the world are searching for the most competitive prices and are finding some of the very best deals in Abu Dhabi.

Over 50 central banks have cut their interest rates in the past five months and the correction in gold prices at the end of 2011 offers investors the opportunity to buy back into a safe haven asset class, at an excellent price. The diversification of central banks into gold is continuing at a time when gold supply and demand remains tight, and extraction costs have tripled in less than a decade. So the prospects for bullion remain very attractive.

Philippe Ghanem, managing director of ADS Securities, commented: "From the start of the year gold has looked strong. Investors continue to pursue "safe havens" and see precious metals as less volatile and a more consistent asset classes. At ADS Securities our goal is to offer both institutional and professional investors the most attractive deals possible. With some of the lowest gold prices in the market, as low as 40 to 60 cents per oz, we are delivering compelling value to a global market, and we are seeing demand from all areas, international and local with, in particular, very large trades coming from Asia."

Ghanem continued, "ADS Securities also offers another significant advantage that investors the world over have responded to. We provide precious metal traders with a three percent margin requirement, compared with the current industry standard of around eight to 12 percent. This gives clients the leverage they are looking for to make the most of their investment. We are in business to offer traders the investment opportunities they need and in time we believe there is no barrier to the GCC emerging as a major global hub for commodities and FX trading."

Gold remains one of the highest profile commodities and over 2011 increased in price by over 20 percent. In a cautious marketplace investors around the world have been looking to take safe positions in liquid asset classes.

ADS Securities was originated to offer investors a bridge between Eastern and Western financial markets, access to sought-after Middle East liquidity and a world class technological platform capable of delivering the tightest FX spreads and the best commodity pricing.
