(MENAFN Press) (EMAILWIRE.COM, January 16, 2012 ) Santa Cruz, California - The 2012 interior decor trends are out in the public with a flurry of different styles and colors. Highlights from spring to winter may change slightly but the overall theme persists. Online resources provide homeowners with much needed details.

Upbeat and elegant are two words that describe the 2012 interior decor trends. Patterns and designs that fit into these descriptions are figured to dominate the interiors of homes in the coming months. Experts agree that there may not be a single color that will become very prominent but it will definitely have home owners thinking out of the box when designing their own interiors while trying to stay within the trendy zone.

Colors

Since home owners have a loosened leash where colors are concerned, repainting the room may not be necessary in case the current color scheme has an elegant touch to it or makes the room bright and happy. Interior decoration gurus have pointed out that a huge portion of one's decorating budget will go to purchasing paint in case customers have to repaint a section of the house.

Neon colors in the living room get two thumbs up for the year 2012. To further compliment the people's creativity, designers suggest that people should let more natural light into their homes. Neon shades in vivid elegant tones are slated to highlight rooms. Of course, should also check out the many possibilities available to them in the next home decorating project.

In a strange twist to it all, some interior decor designers even suggest black or darker colors and gold can be a pretty good option in case home owners need them. Darker hues with gold trims provide that elegant appeal so homes with these colors are still to fall within the upcoming trends. These colors provide a stylish contrast that will work with many homes in the upcoming year.

"The main idea is to let our homes speak for themselves. Whatever colors you choose for your interiors, make sure that it delivers your desired atmosphere and truly represents your personality" one interior designer puts it.

Upcoming Designs

Since elegance and a chic look is the defining theme in 2012, interior designers recommend adding accessories to the home. The upbeat color tones this year will be matched by natural decor accessories. Some of the recommended materials to use in the coming annual trend includes glass, crystals, natural stone, fabric, wood, metal, and shiny plastic. It's all about playing with the light and elegant hues for the home's interiors.

Eco designs are still in as long as they have that elegant and upbeat effect. Fabrics like wool will also take the limelight since they add that inviting and comfy touch to the home. However, some designers warn that the color play and blending of designs should keep to a more gender neutral look.

Online Resources

This is basically where interior decor sites on the Internet help out. Various designers recommend a variety of things to try for the home but no one should expect that it will all work like magic for everyone. Customers will still have to decide and figure out which of the interior decor trends in 2012 will work best for them.
