(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) A Bahraini teenager died on Saturday after riotings and violence swept many parts of the country.
Sayed Hashim Saeed Isa, 16, from Sitra died at Bahrain's main hospital Salmaniya Medical Complex. The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the deceased had sustained severe burns on his body and an injury to his neck, but denied connections with his death.
The ministry's spokesperson said that initial investigations revealed that the deceased was among those involved in the attack on security forces with Molotov cocktails earlier in the day but explained that teargas does not cause the type of burns that were observed on the body of the deceased. Public Prosecutor, Nawaf Abdullah Hamza, said that after examining the body an injury was found under the left ear and burns in the chest and arm of the same side.
He said the death was caused of injury in the neck that led to bleeding. He said that investigation will continue after the report of the medical examiner is out. The violence included attacks on several establishments of the ministry, mainly police stations in disturbed areas.
The ministry condemned any attempt to disturb general security, to scare the public or to spread chaos. It assured that it will deal with any lawbreaking attempt with firmness within its legal powers.
