(MENAFN - Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Modern trends in lighting solutions, energy-efficiency, green lighting and the potential savings in costs and resources offered by the latest designs are among some of the topics that will be under the spotlight at the three days of conferences, seminars and workshops being held alongside Light Middle East 2011 in Dubai in September.

With growing interest around the region in emerging technologies and innovations that promise to transform the way energy is used, Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organiser of Light Middle East, the networking platform of choice for the world of lighting design and technology, are reporting an excellent response from the regional community to the comprehensive conference programme.

The programme, which will cover topical issues such as lighting design for Islamic and Avant Garde Architecture, is already generating strong participation from the region's industry professionals.

"Representing the interests of the lighting design and technology industry in the Middle East over the years, Light Middle East has grown to closely reflect the trends that affect the market," said Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt.

"The conferences continue to bring together the industry to debate and come up with dedicated solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of this marketplace," he added.

Running alongside Light Middle East 2011 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from September 12 to 14, the three-day conference will feature Green Middle East, Light Insight Arabia Conference, a Lighting Masterclass and an Introduction to Lighting Workshop.

Each day's programme has been tailored to address issues that impact the regional industry and is designed to benefit lighting designers and consultants, architects, government officials, engineers, developers, system solution providers and lighting suppliers.

The Green Middle East Conference, taking place Monday, September 12th, on the first day of the three day event will examine the increasing trends towards sustainable lighting design and technology and the implementation of these in today's world.

Among the speakers will be experts from local and regional environmental associations throwing light on the following topics: Lighting for green buildings, green cities and green design; intelligent lighting technology and photonic communication; building codes / lighting regulations; building technologies; artificial lighting / solar powered lighting; lighting controls / daylighting / sun shading; facade lighting / retrofitting lighting.

Green Middle East is being co-organised with Sesam Business Consultants, and is designed to stimulate and sustain discussion on sustainable design and technology. For the first time the event is being endorsed by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Middle East and is supported by RUUD Lighting Arabia.

Light Insight Arabia which is being organised in association with the Professional Lighting Designers' Association, Germany (PLDA) and is supported by Osram, Zumtobel and Schr der Gulf LLC, will take place on Day Two, Tuesday, September, 13th. It will feature leading international and regional speakers such as Enrique Peiniger, Professor Andreas Schulz, Abdulaziz Al Azem and Ziad Fattouh amongst others.

The conference, which lays focus on Arabic specific projects, will cover the changing landscape for architectural light-ing design in the Middle East, lighting of sacred Islamic architecture, innovations and new technologies in architectural lighting, and lighting design for avant garde architecture.

The third day's programme on Wednesday, September 14th will feature the Lighting Masterclass and Introduction to Lighting Workshop which includes the Thorn Academy of Light Workshop. Additional workshops include a case study on proven LED solutions in a harsh environment, a Lighting Design Masterclass and an introduction to lighting work-shop by Professor Riad Saraiji of U.A.E. University.

Light Middle East is the Middle East's premier conference and exhibition for lighting design and technology. The event highlights the latest trends and developments in the industry, with a focus on a changing landscape within the Middle East.
