(MENAFN - Arab Times) Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man and an Egyptian woman for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Dar daily. Police on routine duty in Hawalli suspected the man behind the wheel because the four occupants - all women - were merry making. It was late in the evening and when police ordered the man to pull over, three women got out of the vehicle and escaped in different directions. However, when police arrested the man he claimed to be the employee of the State Security department. The man and the woman have been referred to the authorities.
Meanwhile, in two separate incidents police arrested four women - two Kuwaitis and two Syrians - for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Dar daily. A police patrol on routine duty in Al-Sha'ab Al-Bahari area stopped a Kuwaiti woman and demanded to see her ID and in the process the officer got the smell of alcohol from the mouth of her compatriot who was in the passenger. The women were also wearing indecent clothes. A little while later police arrested the two Syrians who were also allegedly high on alcohol.
During interrogation they admitted to having fun in an apartment with their 'friends'. All the four women have been detained for interrogation. In the meantime, police have arrested three people - two Kuwaitis and an Arab - for allegedly consuming alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily. The arrest came following a complaint filed by an unidentified citizen who said the trio verbally abused him and humiliated him for no reason outside his home in Jabriya.According to security sources one of the Kuwaitis is a member of the ruling family. The trio has been referred to the Criminal Evidences Department to measure the level of alcohol in their blood.
