(MENAFN) Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel's executive vice chairman, Naveen Jindal, stated that plans on building a pelletising plant in Oman provided that the government provides extra natural gas as feedstock, reported Times of Oman.
Jindal also said that the plan was for the plant to have a production capacity of around 7 million tons per annum (mtpa) of pellets. He pointed out that the project would be a part of the company's steel complex expansion.
The executive vice chairman added that Jindal Steel and Power, part of the USD12 billion steel conglomerate of Jindal group, would keep its plans ready until it gets confirmation that Oman would provide the needed additional natural gas.
It is worth noting that Jindal Steel and Power is the most valuable private steel producer in India, with an annual turnover of over USD2.1 billion.
