(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) King Mohammed of Morocco conveyed his gratitude to the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for UAE's support for the accession of Morocco to the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Shaikh Khalifa received a message from King Mohammed on Sunday when he welcomed at the Presidential Palace Al Tayeb Al Fassi Fihri, the Moroccan Foreign Minister, who is currently visiting UAE as part of Gulf tour.
The message deal with the distinguished brotherly ties and issues of mutual concern.
The Moroccan minister conveyed the gratitude of King Mohammed to the UAE under the leadership of Shaikh Khalifa for the sincere and fraternal call stated in the final statement of the recent GCC consultative summit for the accession of Morocco to the GCC. Such a move, he added, would further strengthen bilateral ties.
He said :"Bonds between the UAE and Morocco are progressing to advanced levels thanks to fraternal coordination and cooperation that bind us with these countries since long time at all levels and pave the way for a higher position than these relations under the approach of our leadership and for achieving more growth and stability in our states through promising partnerships and bright future of aspirations and dreams.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region; Lt. General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Shaikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President; Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs; Mohammed Bu Dharif, Moroccan Charge d' affaires; other Shaikhs and senior officials.
