(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman Emirates NBD, the leading banking group in the region, received a senior banking delegation from Bank of America Merrill Lynch in his office at Emirates NBD headquarters.
The delegation was headed by Andrea Orcel, Executive Chairman & President of Emerging Markets and included Andrew Gazitua, Managing Director, Head of Central, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, Investment Banking, Waleed El-Amir, Managing Director Head of MENA & Turkey, Corporate & Investment Banking and Ziad Awad, Managing Director, Head of Industrials, Energy and Power Investment Banking.
During the meeting, Al Tayer, welcomed the delegation and highlighted the remarkable growth the national economy is witnessing in general and the banking sector in particular, where Al Tayer expected this sector to achieve good results during the year 2011 based on the positive signs shown by the national economy in key economic sectors, such as trade & re-export, services, aviation, transport, tourism, travel and others.
Al Tayer also highlighted the importance of the visit of this senior delegation from Bank of America Merrill Lynch and their continuous presence in Dubai and the UAE which continues to be one of the most attractive emerging markets in the world. Furthermore, Al Tayer stressed upon the UAE's ability to attract financial investment and global institutions.
