British Council launches new Learn English pronunciation app 

(MENAFN Press) Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 10 November 2010: Learners of the English language now have a new digital tool to help them improve their English pronunciation, thanks to the launch of a British Council Learn English pronunciation application (app) - Sounds Right - for iPads.

Sounds Right is an interactive pronunciation chart that was developed by the British Council. It groups sounds by vowels, consonants and dipthongs and has examples of each in use. The pronunciation app is available free from iTunes and was profiled in the iTunes stores new and noteworthy section.

This English pronunciation chart was originally created for interactive whiteboards for English courses held at British Council Teaching Centres. It is the latest in a series of free Learn English apps the British Council has developed for handheld learning devices.

The Sounds Right pronunciation app joins a growing number of free online resources the British Council is developing for teachers and those learning English under its Learn English range of products. Globally more than 650,000 learners visit the British Councils Learn English website each month. Other products in the Learn English range include:
