(MENAFN) The University of Paris-Dauphine in France will open an outlet in Tunis as of the next academic year 2009-2010., after the green light for the project was given by the university board in Paris, Le Quotidien reported.
The newspaper said that that the branch which will be located on the premises of the former Tunis Carthage University at la Soukra, near Tunis, will bear the name Universit Dauphine Tunis.
Classes will begin at first year level in the economic sciences, management and law. Classes for specialized Masters students will also be given at the start of the next academic year. The system to be used is the one currently used in Tunisian universities, namely the LMD (License, Master, Doctorat) corresponding to the degrees of Bachelor, Masters, and PhD.
Teaching will be carried out by Dauphine University professors as well as by top Tunisian professors and diplomas will be jointly delivered by both universities.
Strict enrolment criteria, as well as the presence of qualified personnel from Paris -Dauphine, will be enforced. The new institution which relies on its prestigious name, hopes to attract elite Tunisian students.
