There is a small difference between winning in sport and winning in business, according to the thirteen-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer. Roger has the unique distinction of holding the World No. 1 rank for a record 237 consecutive weeks. He is also the ambassador for Swiss brand, Jura, a pioneer in the field of automatic coffee machines.
Federer is set to make an appearance in Dubai at an exclusive event Meet and Greet by Jura. Federer will take part in a panel discussion and share his tips on what it takes to stay on top, even when the going gets tough. The event is set for February 19 2009 at Dubais One & Only Royal Mirage Hotel.
Edward Charnaud, Head of Global Marketing and Sales for Jura, will also join the panel. He agreed that similar strategies can be deployed to ensure that one stays ahead both in a competitive market and in sports: The parallels between excelling at sport and excelling in business are many.
However, I have noticed that there are five key characteristics that distinguish winners from losers. These are: narrowing the odds, maintaining a positive mental attitude, looking for continuous improvement, playing to ones strengths and, last but not least, humility.
According to Markus Hacker, General Manager of Coffema International, Juras exclusive distributor in the UAE, the event is a part of Juras international series - Meet and Greet with Roger Federer.
He said that similar events in Paris and Shanghai have received tremendous success and he believes that it is set to create much excitement here in Dubai.
Meanwhile, Eric Berchtold, Area Manager for JURA confirmed that the event marks the first public premier of Juras Signature line coffee machines : The Signature line represents Juras high-end, fully automatic speciality coffee machines featuring handmade surface finishes with natural materials, designed to meet the exacting demands of a customer who is in constantly in search of the ultra-special.
