(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Yemen Airlines, known as Yemenia, is gearing up for a major expansion in Gulf region and Asia, said its Area Manager, Muneer Mohammad Jahwash.
Yemenia will open new sectors -Sharjah to Kochi & Sharjah to Sana'a -this year by the winter season. Two more destinations in India i.e. Calcutta and Hyderabad are also under consideration in the near future.
"Yemenia has been flying for the last 20 years to India and the country has proven to be a very good destination for Yemenia as the airline records full capacity load on Sana'a-Bombay sector," revealed Muneer in an interview in Dubai.
"We plan to add two more flights to Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta from Dubai in addition to increase frequencies to Addis Ababa, Bombay and Jeddah from Sana'a," he informed.
Yemenia has recorded sales revenue for passengers that grew by 35 per cent, cargo sales by 75 per cent year-to-date.
The airline plans major developments including strengthening of its presence in various markets by increasing flights to existing routes.
