DJ Japan Jun Indus Output 3.9% On Month Expected 4.3%

TOKYO, Jul 28, 2011 (Dow Jones Commodities News Select via Comtex) --Japanese industrial production rose for the third straight month as companies--particularly in the auto sector--continue to ramp up production after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said Friday.

Seasonally adjusted industrial output rose 3.9% in June from the previous month, the ministry said.

The rise was slightly smaller than the median forecast of a 4.3% gain in a survey of economists by Nikkei and Dow Jones Newswires.

Manufacturers polled by the ministry expect their production to rise 2.2% in July and 2.0% in August.
