New strategic three step approach to e-book acquisition revealed by ebrary
Mar 21, 2012 (Menafn - TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) --ProQuest business ebrary on Wednesday announced a strategic new approach to e-book acquisition based on three steps: Transition, Diversify and Streamline, to help libraries meet research needs and maximise budgets.
The company said that academic libraries cans subscribe to Academic Complete, a base collection of over 71,500 authoritative e-books with unlimited, multi-user access, as well as leverage Academic Complete's usage statistics to strategically determine where it makes sense to expand the collection using other models.
Libraries can also upload and integrate their own digital repositories with DASH! (Data Sharing, Fast) and create a centralised digital repository.
All e-books acquired under any model are seamlessly integrated on the ebrary platform and are available on or offline via a dedicated mobile app for the iPad, iPhone and iPad touch, according to ebrary. Titles can be purchased directly through ebrary's ordering system, which combines administrative functionality in a single interface, or through its existing print acquisition workflow through book vendors.
