AMR sees load factor increase in April 2012

May 09, 2012 (Menafn - AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION via COMTEX) --Parent company of American Airlines Inc, AMR Corporation on Tuesday reported its April 2012 consolidated revenue and traffic results for its principal subsidiary and wholly-owned subsidiary AMR Eagle Holding Corporation.

Consolidated revenue passenger miles decreased by 0.2% in the fourth month of 2012 while available seat miles fell by 3.2% when compared to the corresponding month of the year prior.

During April 2012 the company's consolidated load factor increased by 2.5 percentage points to 82.9% compared to the same month of the previous year.

American Airlines, American Eagle and the AmericanConnection carrier currently serve 260 airports in over 50 countries and territories with, on average, over 3,500 services a day. Combined network fleet numbers are in excess of 900 aircraft. American Airlines is also a founding member of airline alliance oneworld.
