BRIEF: Rockslide Strands Amtrak Passengers

Mar 16, 2012 (Menafn - KTXL-TV - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --PLACER COUNTY -- A small rockslide has left a Roseville-bound Amtrak train stopped and its passengers stranded behind a Union Pacific train between Auburn and Rocklin.

The train has been stopped since 5:30 p.m. Friday. Union Pacific spokesperson Aaron Hunt says crews hope to have the tracks cleaned up and the trains moving again by 8 p.m.

Hunt also said that Union Pacific had mechanical problems on one of their trains, which caused delays for Union Pacifc and Amtrak for about 45 minutes earlier in the day.
