Delta purchases Trainer oil refinery from ConocoPhilips

May 01, 2012 (Menafn - AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION via COMTEX) --The United Steel Workers (USW) on Monday announced that the Trainer, Pa oil refinery has been purchased by Delta Air Lines DAL from ConocoPhilips.

Delta Air Lines on Monday said that the wholly-owned subsidiary, Monroe Energy LLC, has agreed to acquire the Delaware County complex, including pipelines and transportation for the delivery of jet fuel to the carrier's operations throughout the Northeast US.

For the purchase the buyers committed to investing USD100m beyond the purchase price for infrastructure improvements, further financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The USW is an industrial union in North America which currently has 850,000 members in the US, Canada and the Caribbean, where it represents workers employed in metals, rubber, chemicals, paper, oil refining, renewable and atomic energy and the service sector.
