Not happy, Bankwest, say customers
Feb 08, 2012 (Menafn - The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) --Bankwest faces growing criticism over its treatment of some customers. The Western Australian bank had expanded its lending in the commercial property sector. Its risk and lending practices were overhauled after its acquisition by the Commonwealth Bank in 2008. This led to some loans being called in with little notice during the global financial crisis. Some customers are taking legal action, while some are hoping for a class action. There is pressure for a Senate inquiry into the takeover and the subsequent practices of the bank.
