Fans are excited about Saturday's SEC championship game between Alabama and Georgia.

With Georgia and Alabama fans dispersed throughout the city, local bars have prepared for what is expected to be massive crowds of fans coming to watch the anticipated game.

Johnathan Bowling aka "Box," bartender at downtown bar Idle Hour Pub, says they have brought a band to perform this year to top last year's crowd turn out.

"We had a big turnout for last year's SEC championship game." said Bowling. "This year is expected to be bigger because we have the Garrett Miles Band performing after the game."

The pub will have TVs on every table and a large projector TV and will be offering drink specials such as 5 mixed drinks all day and 3 domestic beer.

Brickhouse Grille, also downtown, has been receiving calls this week from fans wanting to reserve tables for the game.

Executive Chef and Manager, Richard Lindamood, says that table reservations are typically not available until one hour before arrival, but patio seating will be available on Saturday if weather permits. Lindamood says Brickhouse will be the spot for fans to enjoy a good game and good food.

"There will probably be a mixed crowd of Bama and Georgia fans here." said Lindamood. "We will have great food and the best showing in town to watch the game."

Though the bars will be popular spots for fans to gather, not all fans have plans to watch the game at bars.

Alabama fan and LaGrange College grad student Lacee Landrum will be in Atlanta tailgating outside of the Georgia Dome along with other friends from LaGrange.

"I've always been a Bama fan, so I'm excited to be able to go tailgate this year." said Landrum. "I think it it will be a blowout. Georgia will score though, but Bama will win."

Georgia fan and LaGrange resident, Marcelene New will be watching from her

"I have alot to do earlier in the day and will be home just in time for the game." said New. "I'm hoping for a good game and that Georgia pulls it off."

One family has a split house and will be cheering for opposite teams while listening to the game on the radio and watching from their smart phones.

Husband Jeff Sargent, a Georgia fan, and wife Val Sargent, an Alabama fan, have to attend their daughter's theatre performance at the University of West Georgia during the time of the game.

The Sargents said that they will listen to the game on the way to the performance, while they attempt to keep their pact in not "trash talking" each other.

"We made a deal this week not to trash talk each other." said Jeff. "We are keeping it all in good fun."

Val Sargent predicts that Alabama will win due to its more challenging season over Georgia's, but will congratulate her husband if the results prove differently.

"We agreed to congratulate each other eventually." Val said. "It probably won't happen on Saturday, but it will happen eventually."

Kick off for the game will be Saturday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m eastern time.
