Petaquilla Confirms Recommendation to Reject Inmet Offer
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Nov 05, 2012 (Menafn - MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. ("Petaquilla" or the "Company") PTQM.F(frankfurt:P7Z) confirmed today that its board ofdirectors continues to recommend that Petaquilla shareholders REJECTInmet Mining Corporation's offer to acquire all of the outstandingcommon shares of Petaquilla and NOT TENDER their common shares, andthat any Petaquilla shareholders who have previously tendered theirshares into the Inmet offer WITHDRAW them immediately.
Petaquilla confirms that discussions with Inmet continued over theweekend. While the parties were unable to conclude on the terms of atransaction that the board of directors believes could be recommendedto shareholders, Petaquilla remains committed to engaging indiscussions with Inmet and other parties with a view to reaching anagreement that is beneficial for all parties, including Petaquillaand its shareholders.
