BRIEF: Opelika police arrest woman in store theft
Feb 11, 2013 (Menafn - Opelika-Auburn News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --A Montgomery-area woman is behind bars again in Lee County--this time charged with second-degree theft of property.
Opelika police arrested Mychaela D. Jackson, 18, of Pike Road and a 17-year-old male juvenile around 12:15 p.m. Sunday at Best Buy in the 2100 block of Tiger Town Parkway after a store employee observed Jackson and the teen taking two sets of headphones from the packaging and placing them in Jackson's purse.
The juvenile was charged with third-degree theft of property in connection with the incident.
Mychaela Jackson's arrest on Sunday marks the second time she has been charged with a crime in Lee County.
Mychaela Jackson was arrested Jan. 15 by Auburn police and charged with two counts of robbery for her role in a Dec. 20 shoplifting incident at the Village Mall during which she and a second suspect allegedly assaulted two store employees as they attempted to stop the pair from leaving the business. She was booked into the Lee County Detention Facility on 20,000 bail, which she posted and was released that same day.
For the latest charge against her, Mychaela Jackson has been booked into the LCDF on 3,000 bail, where she remained on Monday, Lee County Sheriff's Office Capt. Van Jackson said.
