Panel Manufacturers Vow to Reduce Production for Profit

BEIJING, Sep 19, 2012 (Menafn - SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) --Senior executives of Samsung, LG, AU Optronics Corp. (AUO, NYSE: AUO) all stated during the FPD International China 2012/Beijing Summit that profitability would become their primary management objectives in the future.

It is said that four major Taiwan-based panel manufacturers including AUO and Chimei Innolux Corporation (CMI) saw a total loss of TWD 57.7 billion in the first half of 2012.

Actually, many panel enterprises are reducing output in recent two years. Data show that the production capacity of panels grew by 50% from 2002 to 2004, while the growth rate is reckoned to slip to 14% from 2012 to 2014.
