CITIC Capital Said to Acquire AsiaInfo-Linkage for USD900mn

HONG KONG, Nov 29, 2012 (Menafn - SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) --Two insiders disclosed that CITIC Capital Holdings Limited (CITIC Capital) was holding high-level talks with China-based software service provider AsiaInfo-Linkage, Inc. ASIA to acquire the latter at USD 900 million.

A source said that CITIC Capital intended to privatize AsiaInfo-Linkage together with the management of the latter and an agreement was expected to be reached before the end of the year.

Statistics show that AsiaInfo-Linkage holds USD 255 million in cash and short-term investment and no liabilities as of the end of September. Deducting the value of these assets, AsiaInfo-Linkage will be evaluated at USD 645 million if the deal is made, higher than the evaluation of USD 540 million reported at present.
