BRIEF: McClatchy Co. receives more than 30 million in dividends

Dec 20, 2012 (Menafn - The Sacramento Bee - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --The McClatchy Co. said today it received more than 30 million in dividends from its equity investments this week.

Sacramento-based McClatchy, which owns The Bee, said it got a 15 million dividend today from CareerBuilder, the online help-wanted advertising company. McClatchy owns 15 percent of the company.

In addition, McClatchy disclosed that it received an 18.9 million dividend from Classified Ventures, which includes Cars.com and Apartments.com. McClatchy owns 25.6 percent of Classified Ventures.

Along with smaller distributions received earlier in the year, McClatchy said it has received a total of 38.6 million in dividends this year.
