In February 2012, China Mobile Hong Kong Company Limited (CMHK) won the frequency band ranging from 2330MHz to 2360MHz with a bandwidth of 30MHz for TD-LTE network construction through an auction. On July 19, 2012, the company announced that it had invited ZTE and Ericsson to build the TD-LTE network and integrate it with the existing LTE FDD network so as to deploy the dual-mode LTE network.
CMHK initiated commercial LTE FDD service as early as April 25 and has chosen Ericsson to exclusively undertake the project.
