BRIEF: Police searching for man with painted face who robbed the Augusta CVS pharmacy

Nov 17, 2012 (Menafn - Bangor Daily News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --AUGUSTA, Maine -- A man with his face painted walked into the CVS Pharmacy on Capitol Street at about 11 a.m. Saturday and robbed the store of painkillers, Augusta police Lt. Chris Massey said.

"There was no weapon displayed but there was some sort of threat made," the lieutenant said. "He was given some pain meds and a K-9 was used to track him ... to a parking lot, where we believe he got into a vehicle."

The Augusta Police Department asked for assistance from Maine State Police, who sent a K-9 unit to help search for the suspect.

"He's described as about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, white, wearing a black sweatshirt, black hat, face paint and [camouflage] gloves," Massey said.

The description of the face painting was not available.

Two detectives have been assigned to the case and other officers were searching for the robber, the lieutenant said.
