BRIEF: Area organizations receive Xcel Energy grants

Dec 04, 2012 (Menafn - St. Cloud Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --Xcel Energy announced nearly 1 million in grants to nonprofit programs that provide job training and placement and access to arts and education in Minnesota.

The Paramount Arts Resource Trust received a grant of 15,000 and United Arts of Central Minnesota received 10,000. The Initiative Foundation of Little Falls received a 5,000 economic sustainability grant.

The funding went to 87 nonprofit organizations.

Xcel Energy's economic sustainability grants target programs that help individuals obtain employment, create jobs and work to improve the economic sustainability of underserved populations.

Grants in the arts and culture focus area support efforts to increase accessibility to artistic and cultural activities, and fund nonprofit programs that enhance music education and performing arts in schools.
