BRIEF: Wal-Mart opens hiring center for new Oxnard supercenter
Nov 14, 2012 (Menafn - Ventura County Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has opened a job center in Oxnard to hire 200 people for a new supercenter set to open in early 2013, the retailer said.
Wal-Mart has opened the center at 520 W. Fifth St., Suite C. The company is hiring full- and part-time positions, including supervisory.
About 75 percent of store management teams start as hourly associates, according to Wal-Mart.
The retailer says it paid the average full-time hourly associate 12.82 per hour in California as of July.
The 78,000-square-foot supercenter will take over the former Mervyns building at 2655 Saviers Road, which has been vacant since 2008.
Applicants can stop by the center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or apply at http://careers.walmart.com.
Wal-Mart said its benefit program is for eligible staff members, including part-time positions. It offers health care coverage, matching 401(k) contributions of up to 6 percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise, an stock purchase program and company-paid life insurance. Eligible associates also can receive quarterly merit-based incentives.
