BRIEF: Person dies when struck by Metra train in Cary

Nov 04, 2012 (Menafn - Chicago Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --A person was struck and killed by a Metra train in northwest suburban Cary this evening, a spokesman for the agency said.

Union Pacific Northwest Line Train 721, which left downtown Chicago at 5:30 p.m., struck a person near Feinberg Road in Cary about 6:50 p.m., just after leaving the Cary station, said Metra spokesman Michael Gillis.

The person was killed, Gillis said.

Union Pacific Northwest Line trains were delayed as authorities investigated.
