BRIEF: Police: 55-year-old woman shot, killed in domestic violence situation in Mason County

HOODSPORT, Apr 12, 2012 (Menafn - KCPQ/KMYQ-TV - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --A 55-year-old woman was shot and killed during a domestic violence situation Thursday near Lake Cushman in Mason County, police said.

A 64-year-old man who lived in the same house was taken into custody and was cooperating, Mason County sheriff's Chief Deputy Dean Byrd said.

The shooting took place at 111 N. Fairway Dr. E. near Lake Cushman. Byrd said the shooting stemmed from a domestic violence incident and that alcohol was involved.

The couple had been living in the house for only about a week, Byrd said.
