ERA near deal to extend uranium mining

Oct 11, 2012 (Menafn - The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) --Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) is progressing plans to extend the life of its Ranger uranium mine in the Northern Territory. The company is close to completing a new mining agreement with the traditional owners. This will provide the security to invest in extending operations beyond the present estimated life of 2016. ERA produced 1,239 tonnes of uranium in the September quarter of 2012, a rise of 96 per cent.
