Motorola Solutions posts net earnings of USD336m for 2012
Jan 24, 2013 (Menafn - M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) --Motorola Solutions Inc MSI, a provider of mission-critical communication solutions and services, on Wednesday reported net earnings attributable to Motorola of USD881m, or diluted EPS of USD2.96, for the full year 2012, ended 31 December 2012.
This was in comparison with net earnings attributable to the company of USD1.16bn, or diluted EPS of USD3.41, in 2011.
For the fourth quarter of 2012, net earnings attributable to the company were USD336m, or USD1.18 per diluted share, as compared with net earnings of USD184m, or diluted EPS of USD0.56, in Q4 of 2011.
Sales for the full year 2012 were a record USD8.7bn, up by 6% as compared with USD8.2bn in 2011. Also, sales for the fourth quarter were a record USD2.4bn, up by 6% as compared with USD2.3bn in Q4 2011. These sales results include revenue for Psion, which was acquired on 1 October 2012, Motorola said.
Also, Motorola Solutions provided an outlook for the first quarter of 2013 of revenue growth of 4% to 5%, as compared with the first quarter of 2012 and non-GAAP earnings per share from continuing operations of USD0.62 to USD0.67 per share. For the full-year 2013, the company expects revenue growth of approximately 5% to 5.5%, as compared with 2012 and non-GAAP operating earnings of approximately 18% of sales.
