Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc receives two US patents for epilepsy product, Trokendi XR

Nov 06, 2012 (Menafn - M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) --Specialist pharmaceutical company Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc (nasdaqgm:SUPN) reported on Monday the receipt of two patents in the US for its epilepsy product, Trokendi XR.

The company said the two patents (8,298,576 and 8,298,580) were awarded by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on 30 October 2012. The patents cover Trokendi XR, the company's novel once-daily extended-release topiramate product.

Supernus Pharmaceuticals' president and CEO, Jack A. Khattar stated "This is a very important development for us as we continue to build intellectual property protection for our products. Each of our epilepsy products, Trokendi XR and Oxtellar XR, is now covered by two issued US patents."
