Design plans begin soon for Dover's Henry Law Park upgrades

DOVER, Nov 03, 2012 (Menafn - Foster's Daily Democrat - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --Improvements to Henry Law Park are moving forward in conjunction with the Capital Improvements Program from last year.

The Children's Museum of New Hampshire and the city have selected the landscape design firm, Terra Firma Landscape Architecture of Portsmouth, to develop conceptual drawing plans for the project. A 10,000 grant from Public Service of New Hampshire was given to the museum, helping the city move ahead with the design process, as well as 125,000 from the CIP already designated to upgrade the park.

City Manager Michael Joyal said citizens rated Henry Law as the community's most visited park. Terra Firma Landscape Architecture of Portsmouth will take ideas from the community and create several options on how those goals can be accomplished.

"Within the next six to eight weeks, we will begin seeing design plans," said recreation director Gary Bannon.

Two public input sessions were already held to solicit ideas, according to Joyal.

The architectural company prides itself on its ability to develop a collaborative environment with the community and its stakeholders and was selected by the city to make the design work a reality starting this fall so park improvements can be implemented over the next year.
