Derailment, heavy rains cause havoc for Aurizon

Feb 20, 2013 (Menafn - The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) --Rail freight group Aurizon has reported a decline in 2012-13 interim net profit from A196m to A176m, although the underlying result before tax was up 36% to reach A356m. The six-month distribution has also been raised A0.004 to A0.041. CEO Lance Hockridge noted that the impact of recent floods in Queensland was less severe for Aurizon's coal mining clients than the natural disaster of 2011. The company will soon unveil its new CFO.
