BRIEF: Lincoln Park man killed after losing control of Ford Mustang in Frenchtown Township
Jun 30, 2012 (Menafn - Detroit Free Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --A 21-year-old Lincoln Park man was killed Friday after police say he lost control of his 1998 Ford Mustang, causing the vehicle to overturn and eject him.
The crash occurred just before 5 p.m. Friday on Newport South Road, just north of Post Road, in Frenchtown Township, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Police said David M. O'Grady was driving the Mustang south on Newport South Road when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned, ejecting O'Grady.
O'Grady, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the vehicle, 22-year-old William J. Balentine of Pleasant Ridge, was transported to Oakwood Southshore Hospital in Trenton, where he is listed in stable condition, according to police.
Police said speed appears to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Traffic Services Division.
